Director’s Message
All praise be to Allah Who has honoured man and has created him in the best of forms. Praise be to Allah Who has endowed man with the ability to speak with his tongue as one of His greatest bounties. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammed (ﷺ) is His Messenger. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to our Dar Al Qur’an International Academy.
The word Dar means “house”. It is the house of Qur’an where we all gather to seek all types of Islamic knowledge. This “Dar” was established with the intention to educate our Muslim women, who are the vital pillars in our society. We are the mothers of the future leaders who will lead our Ummah in shaa Allah. Allah (SWT) says: Say, O Prophet, “Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know?”. It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition (39:9). In Islam, knowledge comes before action, and Allah, the Exalted, warns every Muslim against speaking without knowledge. Allah says in the Quran: And pursue not that of which you have no knowledge (17:36). “Allah will raise up, to (suitable) ranks (and degrees), those of you who believe and who have been granted knowledge (58:11). Further, our Prophet (ﷺ) said that the scholars are the heirs of the prophets and that the prophets did not leave behind dinars and dirhams; rather, their inheritance was knowledge, so whoever acquires it has gained a great share.
There are many Qur’anic verses which highlight the significance of knowledge, and hundreds of traditions which accentuate the need to acquire all kinds of knowledge. Allah advised the Prophet (ﷺ) to pray for abundance of knowledge: O My Lord! advance me in knowledge (20:114). Alhamdulillah, at Dar Al Qur’an, Allah has blessed us with a wonderful team of knowledgeable, sincere, and dedicated teachers and administrators who strive to spread Islamic knowledge to our sisters. I pray to Allah (SWT) to bless our efforts, to increase our knowledge and make it beneficial for us and our Muslim Ummah.
